Our client is a forward-thinking accounting firm experiencing exciting growth, driven by their commitment to providing exceptional service and innovative solutions to their SME clients. They have vibrant offices in Melbourne, along with an established team in the Philippines. 

The Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Client Manager/Senior Accountant that will be responsible for building and nurturing client relationships, ensuring quality control and contributing to the strategic direction of the firm. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and develop strong relationships with a portfolio of SME clients
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their business goals and providing tailored solutions
• Oversee the quality control process for client work, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Conduct technical reviews of financial statements and tax returns
• Lead and mentor the team in the Philippines, providing guidance and support to drive their professional development
• Conduct monthly or quarterly advisory meetings, presenting insights and recommendations to clients
• Identify opportunities to expand their service offerings to existing clients and contribute to new business development
• Contribute to the strategic planning and decision-making process as part of the senior leadership team

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• CA/CPA certification is highly desirable; a tax agent license is a bonus
• Minimum 8 years of experience in public practice accounting, with a focus on SME clients
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
• Experience with SMSF desirable
• Strong technical accounting and tax knowledge
• Experience leading and managing a team
• Proficiency in cloud accounting software (e.g. Xero)
