Head of Visual Merchandising

The Company:

Our client is a successful and international apparel retailer with both brick and mortar and a strong eCommerce presence, that has an opportunity for an experienced Head of Visual Merchandising (VM) to join their team.

The Role:

This is your opportunity to lead the VM team and partner with the business to drive store environment and merchandise presentation on their journey of transformation. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for bringing to life the creative vision for the brand in over 100 stores in Australia and New Zealand.
  
Main responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with the leadership team to develop and implement the VM strategy based on agreed brand objectives
  • Ensure strategies and initiatives are designed to maximise sales and profitability through effective use of creativity and commercial/business data to monitor impact on sales and profit
  • Deliver the VM strategy across all channels (full price and outlet stores) while managing the VM budget effectively
  • Manage and lead the VM team and train/develop store teams on VM expectations 
  • Execute all required VM activities including campaign execution, windows, POS requirements (campaign & promotional), store VM directives, manage store VM audits
  • Develop and present VM planograms and store plans 
  • Manage and deliver all VM communication tools including VM Directions, ensuring consistent execution of the brand vision across all stores
  • Work with the property and store development teams to deliver store design concepts, all new, refurbishments & relocations stores. From store architectural and fixture planning right through to build and stock out of stores

To be successful within this role, you will have:

  • 10 years experience in Visual Merchandising and team management within a high volume business
  • Experience in men’s fashion ideal but not essential
  • High energy and motivation to get the job done
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise and deliver within deadlines
  • Proficient computer literacy skills in Microsoft Office and Adobe including Indesign, Photoshop & Illustrator favourable (but not essential)
  • Ability to travel interstate and overseas to New Zealand at times
