The Company:
Our client is a growing apparel retailer with both brick and mortar and a strong eCommerce presence, that has an opportunity for an experienced Production & Sourcing Manager to join their team.
The Role:
This is your opportunity to step up from a Production Coordinator to a Production & Sourcing Manager! Whilst still being hands-on, you will take full ownership of your area and be instrumental in managing production, from concept including fabric and trim development, sampling, fit and approval process, through to shipment of products.
You will have proven experience in managing production within an apparel business as you will work with suppliers in countries such as China, Bangladesh, Vietnam and Cambodia.
Main responsibilities include:
- Oversee the production and sourcing process for your categories
- Execute all styles handed over from the Product Developer
- Manage the production schedule and critical path
- Assist in running effective production meetings
- Analyse supplier performance across margin, quality, service etc.
- Focus on lead time improvements
- Manage supplier relationships, particularly as they diversify their global production
To be successful within this role, you will have:
- 5 years Production experience
- A proven track record in a similar role within fashion apparel, preferably within a retail organisation
- Established supplier networks with overseas factories
- Strong garment production and technical knowledge
- Leadership excellence with a passion to mentor and develop
- Excellent negotiation skills
