Reporting to the Payroll & Systems Manager and working closely with the Senior Payroll Officer, you will play an important role in supporting end-to-end payroll across Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the USA, the UK and South East Asia.
This is more than a traditional payroll processing role. With the business going through an exciting period of growth and systems transformation, you will have the opportunity to contribute to data cleansing, systems preparation and payroll technology improvements, while ensuring payroll continues to run accurately and seamlessly.
About the Role
You will take ownership of key payroll activities and work closely with Payroll, HR, Finance and external providers to ensure employees are paid accurately, on time and in compliance with relevant legislation.
Your Responsibilities will include
- Supporting end-to-end payroll processing across multiple countries, entities and pay cycles.
- Ensuring payroll is processed accurately and within strict pay deadlines.
- Supporting payroll data cleansing, validation and systems preparation.
- Assisting with payroll systems improvements, data migration and technology initiatives.
- Responding to employee payroll queries with professionalism, confidentiality and care.
- Supporting compliance with relevant payroll legislation and requirements.
- Completing payroll reconciliations and reporting for Finance, including month-end, year-end and audit requirements.
- Working across multiple time zones and partnering with internal and external stakeholders to resolve payroll matters efficiently.
About You
You will be an experienced payroll professional who takes genuine pride in accuracy, ownership and getting things right every time.
To be successful, you will ideally have:
- Solid end-to-end Australian payroll experience.
- Strong knowledge of Fair Work, modern awards, superannuation and PAYG.
- NZ payroll experience will be highly regarded.
- Experience with cloud-based payroll platforms, ideally Employment Hero.
- SAP or SAP SuccessFactors experience will be highly regarded.
- Experience with payroll data cleansing, validation or migration.
- Strong reconciliation, numerical and advanced Excel skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential employee information with absolute discretion.
- The ability to work calmly and accurately to tight payroll cut-offs across multiple time zones.
- Exposure to multi-country payroll across South East Asia, North America and the UK is desirable.
- A payroll qualification or certification, such as Australian Payroll Association certification, is desirable.
- Most importantly, you will be someone who takes ownership, enjoys being hands-on and understands the importance of getting payroll right every single time.
